(1) Background of proposal
Based on the Global Asia concept which views Asia as a single region, the Global Asia Design School Program aims to develop design staff members who can lead future designs, by utilizing networks with Asian students and graduates that were cultivated by Chiba University up until now and by utilizing the Engineering Research Organization for Asian Community.
(2) Summary of fiscal 2007
This program was collaboratively promoted under an established system consisting of three organizations; Chiba University functioning as a managing organization, Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization and Kanda Gaigo Career College.
This system allows Chiba University, Consortium and Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization and Kanda Gaigo Career College to communicate at any time with each other. Since August, promotion meetings were held roughly twice a month. Also, a general promotion meeting was held in November to check progress and program promotion state.
This Consortium will be used continuously in fiscal 2008 for promoting the program. The Consortium is operated by members classified into six major groups.
A Members taking charge of operation and promotion of entire program (Chiba University and Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization)
B Members taking charge of programs provided by Chiba University (such as design interactive program provided by the Design Science course)
C Members taking charge of programs provided by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organization (such as professional seminars and international design work programs)
D Members taking charge of programs provided by Kanda Gaigo Career College (such as Japanese language and Japanese business courses that are given at Center for International Research and Education, Chiba University)
