Outline of program

"Industry-University Cooperative IT Management Human Resources Development Program"


Cultivate ability for technology management and research & development through dual instruction given by corporate specialists and university teachers.

・Instructions are given cooperatively by teachers of Graduate School of Science and Engineering and MOT Research of Ritsumeikan University and people in charge of project management in Japanese leading companies.

・Instructions on end-year essay are given by corporate engineers/administrators and university teachers.


Cultivate practical ability through synergy effects of lectures and workshops

・In addition to giving lectures, workshops are held to give consistent training from marketing, planning, development, test to maintenance using software development as the subject.

・In workshops, methods/styles that are actually used in companies are introduced and opportunities to actually experience creation of specifications, progress management, review, test and lateral spread of bugs are given.


Learn Japanese commercial practices and business Japanese language through internship.

・Problem-solving type internship (practicum) is given by companies participating in the program.

・Opportunities of experiencing communal life at dormitory of companies participating in the program as well as homestay are given to improve communication skills with Japanese employees.


*This program is given in the master course of Graduate School of Science and Engineering of Ritsumeikan University. At the end of the course, a master's degree is awarded. The term of study is 2 years.

*1,000 hours of Japanese language education are given in 2 years. In some cases, preliminary education is given depending on the Japanese language ability.

Cultivate high-level IT engineers with Technology of Management (MOT) ability.

Goal of human resources development

High-level IT management human resources with detailed knowledge in Japanese culture and commercial customs, high-level IT skills and excellent management ability / Japanese language ability that are needed to work actively in Japanese companies and overseas subsidiaries / Japanese companies in Asia.
