"Program for Fostering of Global IT Leaders from Aizu, the "International IT Nisshinkan""


Under Program for Fostering of Global IT Leaders from Aizu, the "International IT Nisshinkan", The University of Aizu, local venture businesses and major Japanese companies work collaboratively to nurture foreign students from Asia to become an engineer for the development of safe integration system and to become a global IT leader from Aizu who can contribute to the local community and to the world by mastering "lessons of Aizu and Japanese companies"


1. Specialized education program under business-academia collaboration implements practical courses by front-line lecturers from companies in addition to the courses for basics of IT and theory of international standards for functional safety by professors in the university. The program includes the practical experiences of Japanese companies for the technologies for the development of safe integration system and the latest domestic and global trend.


2. Business Japanese language / Japanese business education program is to nurture global IT leaders from Aizu with deep understandings of local culture and corporate culture, under a theme of "Lessons of Aizu and Japanese companies" and a "Global Leader Manifesto from Aizu" consisting of the essential elements of the theme.


3. Internship program provides experiences in various types of Japanese companies under collaboration with local venture companies, major domestic companies and leading companies in Japan with international operations. Internship is established as a project with predetermined tasks and students aim to get course credits of a subject for "Graduate Department of Information Technologies and Project Management (existing course in the graduate school, accredited by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2007)".


4. Support for foreign students and job hunting support program has Life advisor system by professors of The University of Aizu from home countries and Care system by Japanese students and provides foreign students with experiences that are well mixed with Japanese life style, advice from a professor from home country based on his/her own experiences for learning Japanese language and job hunting so that they can be smoothly employed in a Japanese company.


5. To actively recruit and secure foreign students, responsible persons from software schools of major Chinese universities are contracted as coordinator for the promotion of studying abroad. In addition to this, "Explanation seminar" and "Progress report meeting" will be held periodically on campus in home countries to secure foreign students continuously. Furthermore, "HP for Career Development Program for Foreign Students in Japan (tentative name)" in The University of Aizu will be newly established to build a structure with various channels for sending reports of activities by foreign students in this program to Japan and abroad and for drawing attentions of larger number of foreign students.


6. While this programユs main purpose is to provide foreign students with an environment to study business Japanese language and Japanese business, taking advantages of the fact that regular courses of the graduate school of The University of Aizu are given basically in English and foreign professors account for 40% of the total, The University of Aizu utilizes this characteristics and offers an environment where foreign students can become trilingual (Japanese, English and native language) and experience multiple cultures. Thus, foreign students are provided with an environment to have excellent abilities to understand multiple cultures, send message to and contribute to Asia and the world while working in a local IT venture company or leading company in Japan in the future.

Goal of human resources development

Global Project Leader (GPL) with global cultural awareness (global, Japanese and local (Aizu) culture) for the development of integration system with a view to security and safety.
