Outline of program
"Tohoku Monozukuri (Manufacturing) Industry Talents Relating to All-Asian Innovation ~ TOHOK-MITRAI Program ~"
Develop highly-specialized human resources who understand Japanese-style production management technology which manufacturing companies in Tohoku boast and who have management ability and ability to think and act globally to bridge and promote the overseas development of companies in Tohoku, aiming to contribute to the solution for problems that the companies in Tohoku are facing such as weak development of their overseas manufacturing bases and the shortage of human resources in integration software development.
1. Global management ability
Acquire abilities to understand fully the different culture, to think from a diversified standpoint to take action in a multicultural framework, and to contribute to the creation of an organization and corporate culture to respond to global competitions by utilizing specialized knowledge on global management and the methods.
2. Special lecture on integration system and special lecture on production innovation
Acquire advanced and specialized knowledge in the area of individual expertise, particularly the special knowledge required in the manufacturing site.
3. Japanese language skills
Acquire Japanese language skills not only for the daily routines (reading, writing, hearing and understanding Japanese) such as talking on the phone and creating reports but also for the communications at the manufacturing site in particular and for the full understanding of product specifications and quality control standards.
4. Understanding of Japanese culture
Understand Japanese corporate cultures, current affairs in the society and economic trend and share the commitment of Japanese companies to manufacturing and their stance on human resources development.
5. Internship
Implement the cyclical procedures: "Implement training in a company →Identify issues to be solved →Acquire necessary knowledge →Develop solutions →Implement training in a company"
6. Job hunting support
In addition to the current "Employment support seminars" for foreign students, "Two-way employment support" both for foreign students and companies will be implemented.
7. Survey program
Conduct survey to continuously secure "excellent human resources", to implement horizontal development utilize and to utilize the accumulated know-how in the future.
8. Program to promote foreign students
Unlike the conventional method of recruiting of students mainly taken by educational institutions, consider the needs and current situation of companies and overseas partner organizations from the stage for setting the selection standards for foreign students and at the same time select foreign students under a collaborated and integrated system.
9. Project management program
Create an organization consisting of third-party members such as person in charge in a company, experts and officials of the autonomy (Yamagata prefecture) as well as university members under cooperation among government, industry and academia to integrate education, corporate strategies and local development strategies and to formulate a comprehensive strategies and cooperation structure.
Also create evaluation standards and methods in line with the above mentioned strategy policy to implement objective assessment in a different standards and methods for the academic evaluation.

Goal of human resources development
Develop human resources who are conscious of Japanese culture and local culture (of other country) with ability to think and act globally and manufacturing management ability to become "local leader of mid-level" for the management of activities in overseas manufacturing bases.
Develop human resources who have advanced and specialized knowledge on integration software to participate in and contribute to product development in Japan as an engineer and further to act as SE for international joint development in the future.
