Regional Internship Program for Career Development of Foreign Students in Japan

Support for foreign studnets by Japanese region

“Regional Internship Program for Career Development of Foreign Students from Asia” targets foreign students who are willing to work for Japanese companies and have already been at universities / graduate schools in Japan. The industry-academia consortium which is led by each region and based on the collaboration between universities and companies manages the project and provides the human resources development program including Business Japanese language classes, Japanese business culture courses, Internship programs and Career consultation.


Regional Internship Program for Career Development of Foreign Students in Japan Outline

1. Intended foreign students

Intended for students with foreign citizenship, like Asian countries, who plan to advance to the third grade of the Japanese universities participating in the consortium consisting of a group of universities adopted in each region or the first of master course or the second grade of doctor course (grade two years before graduation) of Japanese graduate school.(Applicants are required to have “a College Student” visa.)


2. Selection method

An adopted consortium consisting of universities and companies (see the right figure) by each region selects foreign students who are willing to work for companies in Japan/Japanese companies and receive scholarship, etc, and Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry conducts selection. Please ask each managing organization for detail.


3. Detail of support

Conduct Business Japanese language classes, Japanese business culture courses, Internship programs, and Career consultation.
