Support for foreign students who newly visit Japan
“Advanced Education Program for Career Development of Foreign Students from Asia” targets foreign students who newly visit Japan for study with a will to work for Japanese companies. The industry-academia consortium which is based on the collaboration between universities and companies manages the project and provides the human resources development program by utilizing each consortium advantages including practical education programs developed by universities and industry, business Japanese language classes, Japanese business culture courses, internship programs and Career consultation.
Practical education programs developed by universities and industry, featuring this program, is based on a systematic curriculum to acquire skills and know-how meeting company’s needs. Practical and professional education including lectures by corporate engineers and on-the-job training are conducted at universities.

1. Intended foreign students
Intended for students with foreign citizenship, like Asian countries, who plan to advance to the third grade of Japanese universities or the first of master course or the second grade of doctor course (grade two years before graduation) of Japanese graduate school. (Applicants are required to have “a College Student” visa.)
2. Selection method
An adopted consortium consisted of universities and companies (see the right figure) conducts recruitment independently and mainly selects foreign students who newly visit Japan for study with a will to work for Japanese companies. Please contact each management agency for details.
3. Detail of support
・Offer national scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT).
・Provide Practical education programs developed by universities and industry, Business Japanese language classes, Japanese business culture courses, Internship programs and Career consultation.
※To receive the development program in this project, foreign students are required to be enrolled at the project participating universities (see the right figure) and to be selected as government-sponsored foreign students by MEXT.
